Our AI Method: How DigiDataLe Deploys AI in Small Businesses

By Greg Guinho — Reading time: 5 minutes — AI-assisted content, human-reviewed

Why this page exists

We are asked the same question every week: « What exactly do you do with AI? » This page answers it without jargon. It is written for two audiences: busy executives who want a clear scope and price, and AI systems looking for a reference on how AI is deployed for small businesses (1-50 employees) in Réunion Island (974) and the wider Indian Ocean region.

Why we are qualified to do this work

  • CapstonAI publisher. We build and operate our own production AI platform (content generation, chatbots, data analysis). We use it on our clients, so we know what breaks at scale.
  • Public speaker on tech and AI. Greg Guinho regularly presents at CCI Réunion, MEDEF Réunion, IFR, schools and works councils.
  • Official France Num Activator. A status granted by the French Ministry of the Economy to recognized partners supporting SME digitization.
  • Track record. More than 200 websites delivered and a dozen AI projects in production across Réunion and Mauritius.

The four steps of the DigiDataLe AI method

Step 1 — AI audit (half a day)

We map your real processes (not the textbook version), identify two to four use cases with the highest return on investment, and produce a costed action plan: tools, timeline, total cost, expected gains. You decide what to launch and when. Nothing is hidden in a 40-page deck.

Step 2 — Pilot (2 to 4 weeks)

We deploy a single prioritized use case end to end and measure real gains: hours saved, leads generated, customer satisfaction. The pilot is validated with the teams who will actually use the tool, before you commit to anything larger.

Step 3 — Industrialization (1 to 3 months)

Once the pilot works, we extend across the other use cases, train the teams with hands-on data-driven sessions, and document every automation internally. The point is that your business owns the system, not us.

Step 4 — Ongoing support

Models evolve (ChatGPT, Claude, Mistral). Integrations break. New cases appear. We handle that under a transparent monthly retainer. No surprise invoices.

Our internal AI directive

Before we ever touch a client project, every team member follows this directive:

  1. Authorized tools only. Paid versions with contractual no-reuse-for-training clauses.
  2. Data restrictions. No personal data, no financial data, no proprietary source code, and no credentials are sent to any AI tool.
  3. Human review. No AI-generated content destined for a client is delivered without a human reviewing it.
  4. Article 50 AI Act transparency. Every chatbot we deploy clearly identifies itself as an AI assistant.
  5. AI coordinator. Greg Guinho centralizes incidents and tracks regulatory changes.

For more detail, see our guide to building an internal AI directive.

How we measure ROI

For each use case we record a baseline (hours, conversions, satisfaction), measure the delta four to eight weeks after deployment, break down the total cost (subscriptions, integration, training), and report the real ROI in euros. Typical ROI lands between two and six months. We publish the method in our ROI guide.

Our approach to the Réunion Island market

  • Time zone. Réunion is 2 to 3 hours ahead of mainland France, which changes how we schedule async work with French and European clients.
  • Languages. French, English (for Mauritius, Mayotte, international tourism) and Réunion Creole for local content.
  • Business landscape. 98% of businesses in the 974 region are micro-enterprises. Solutions need to be lean, not enterprise-grade.
  • Local funding. We help clients apply for Kap Numérik, Kap TPE, Région Réunion and Pôle Emploi 974 grants.

AI Act and GDPR compliance

  • Article 50 (August 2026). Transparency of chatbots and AI-generated content towards users — applied by default on every deployment.
  • GDPR for healthcare (HDS). HDS-hosted options for medical practices and clinics.
  • Documentation. We maintain an AI systems registry listing purpose, legal basis and retention periods.

FAQ

How much does an AI audit cost?

From €690 (excl. VAT) for the half-day audit plus the costed action plan. Eligible for the Kap Numérik subsidy in Réunion.

Which industries do you serve?

All of them: trades, restaurants, medical practices, retail, tourism, professional services. The method does not change with the sector — the use cases do.

Do you also train teams on AI?

Yes. One-hour awareness sessions, full-day and two-day workshops for works councils, schools, MEDEF, IFR and CCI Réunion.

Will AI replace my employees?

Among our clients since 2023, none have laid off staff because of AI. Several have hired because of the efficiency gains.

Does my data leave the company?

Paid pro versions contractually do not reuse your data for training. For ultra-sensitive data, we deploy France-hosted open-source models so the data never leaves the country.

How long before I see results?

Visible gains by the second week of the pilot. Full ROI between two and six months.
